Imprinted on this quilt are the leaves I gathered along my favorite walk near my home. Native and invasive species alike are collected and printed to create a "map" of the ecology of this particular patch at this point in time. I am careful to collect the discarded leaves of native plants and not to disturb the new growth. The human mark is indicated by the sidewalk that snakes along the length of the material.
